EGALITE! FRATERNITE! LIBERTE!
(Equality! Fraternity! Freedom!)

The most lethal three words of our time. Three words in whose name the most number of people on this planet die.
There is no single blood stained banner on which these three words are not written - Equality, Fraternity and Freedom...
How can I understand what is going on in modern Europe today, in the Balkans, in the countries of the Former East... how can I understand why we are killing each other in the name of Equality?
Whose Freedom is the real one, mine or the Freedom of the other, on the other side of/across a rifle butt?
Looking for the answer, I travel back in time, to when the very principles of administering people were being changed.
God, king, the Church... Europe, France... the creation of a new world, a more beautiful world, a world of Equality for all, a world of Freedom and Fraternity - the French Revolution.
Everything was born from there, but how can I compare it with actual figthing and actual Europe?
I think that all answers are to be found in Büchner's extraordinary work, DANTON'S DEATH.
How can I understand that what freedom IS to me, freedom IS NOT to someone else and that he has the right to shoot at me in the name of HIS freedom?
If I say I am against Equality, then I am labelled a right-wing reactionary, a fascist. When others kill in the name of the same Equality, then they are freedom fighters.
How could a beautiful idea of Equality become the most deadly/lethal idea...are we really born different and are differences what keep us apart on this Earth?

Danton and Robespierre - two principles that move the world.
Danton and Robespierre - one idea, two points of view...
And Napoleon who applies theory in practice...

I am not interested in the lofty language and period costumes of historical drama.
I am interested in an Essay about cyclical time. For me drama is trapped in the same unbearable situation of repeating of the same circle/cycle.

Danton decides to break the cycle, to stick his head out, to open the stomach and dive into the guts looking for the answer to the question... Why are we here?
